Both entry options in one box: top entry if your cat will use it and cuts tracking, front entry if it will not. Which removes the gamble that comes with buying a top-entry-only tray.
The ramp on the way out catches litter from the paws, and the stainless tray detaches from the ABS lid so the part that gets dirty is the part you can wash properly.
Start with the front entry open and close it off later if you want to move the cat to top entry — doing it the other way round usually ends with a cat using the floor. The stainless tray takes hot water and detergent, which is the monthly reset a plastic tray never really gets. Keep litter shallower if you switch to top entry.
